The elevator is more than a way to get around in THE LIFT: Supernatural Handyman Simulator. It’s your mobile workshop, storage space, and starting point for exploring an enormous research institute that has been left drifting through the void. You awaken from stasis to find the facility devastated by an unexplained disaster. Your assignment is to restore its systems, investigate the abandoned complex, and figure out what happened to the people who once worked there.
There’s a surprising amount of engineering hidden behind the handyman job. Broken vending machines, generators, satellite dishes, and other devices require more than a quick repair. You’ll need to identify electrical faults, reconnect circuits, replace components, manage power supplies, and craft the parts needed to bring machinery back to life. Recycling materials and choosing the right tools are just as important as understanding how the equipment works.
Fantastic Signals has made its official THE LIFT Discord server an important part of the development process. The developers use it to organize closed playtests, share development news, gather feedback, and involve the community in shaping the game. Players interested in testing new builds can follow access announcements there, while discussions with the team offer a closer look at how the project is evolving.
The repairs are only one part of the mystery. Exploring different areas of the Institute reveals forgotten locations, strange phenomena, documents, and traces of the people who lived there. You’ll also encounter characters with their own stories and requests, gradually piecing together a much larger narrative. The Soviet-inspired retrofuturist setting gives THE LIFT a distinctive atmosphere, somewhere between a hands-on renovation simulator and an unsettling science-fiction adventure.
