There are many political spaces on Discord that are largely a wasteland of unmoderated toxicity and trolling and extremism. We came together to create Café out of a shared desire for a space in which people from different backgrounds and perspectives could talk about politics in a normal manner.
To facilitate and maintain a calm, high-quality community, we simply believe in pruning the dead leaves, removing the people who ruin it for everybody else, and not giving a seemingly endless string of second chances to malicious people who are never going to participate in a productive, good faith manner.
