We run and maintain industry standard subtitling tools and teach others how to use them!
GJM is a fansubbing group that runs and maintains industry leading tools used by the largest professional companies. In addition to fantastic discussions about localization theory we also routinely teach interested newcomers about all the different aspects of our industry. We teach you how to translate a piece and edit it so it sounds natural, how to time subtitles so they are easy to read and appear when expected, how to encode media so visually it is the best it can be, how to typeset signs so you can translate iconography in a seamless manner, and how to project manage these endeavors while ensuring a high standard of quality.
We love to talk about the anime we subtitle, but we love to talk about the process and tools we use to do so even more!
