An army can have tanks, artillery, and plenty of soldiers, but none of that matters if its supplies never arrive. WarFront is a modern real-time strategy game built around this problem. Oil is the main resource, and it has to be transported from captured drilling sites to your headquarters by truck. Protecting those routes is just as important as taking territory. Destroy an enemy bridge or ambush its supply convoy, and an entire offensive can grind to a halt.
The battlefield is more than a collection of units waiting for orders. Engineers can dig trenches, sabotage roads, demolish bridges and dams, or repair damaged infrastructure. Recon vehicles, radar, and drones help uncover enemy positions, while the fog of war means you never have complete information. Towns are worth capturing for practical reasons, too: their facilities can repair vehicles and accelerate military production.
There are different ways to approach a conflict. The campaign follows a modern military storyline across locations including Iraq, Suez, Georgia, Rotterdam, and New York. Sandbox mode lets you arrange opposing forces and watch the battle unfold, while multiplayer offers opportunities for PvP and cooperative warfare. The game also supports Steam Workshop, giving players additional creative possibilities.
The official WarFront Discord server has a direct role in the game’s development. Shu’la Lab has specifically invited players to submit suggestions there, including ideas for new units, bases, structures, gameplay mechanics, and balancing changes. Bug reports and feedback from the free demo also help guide subsequent improvements. For strategy fans, it’s a place to compare battlefield approaches, discuss logistics and military tactics, and have their ideas considered by the development team.
