A forest might look quiet from above, but there’s a whole underground world competing for resources. Mycelarium is a relaxing incremental exploration game on Steam where players start with a single mushroom and gradually spread a living network through the soil. Every new branch needs resources, and finding a route around solid rock or reaching a hidden pocket of food can change how the entire network develops.
What makes the project interesting is that the mushrooms aren’t just decoration. Different mutations bring specialized abilities, automate production, and help the mycelium expand into new areas. Spores can travel with the wind to establish distant growth points, while surface mushrooms interact with the surrounding forest. Even trees can become part of the system through parasitic growth. It’s a little ecosystem that becomes increasingly elaborate without turning into a race against the clock.
The official Mycelarium Discord server has a more hands-on role than simply hosting player conversations. PLAN KAPKAN invites players to share their fungal empires, talk directly with the developers, suggest new features, report bugs, and get sneak peeks at upcoming work. Since every underground network can develop differently depending on resource discoveries and expansion choices, there’s plenty to show and compare. And when you have an idea for another mushroom mutation or a better way to grow the network, the developers have specifically invited those suggestions.
